Physical Condition Many of the receipts are badly eaten around the edges by insects and rodents but still readable.
Conservation Receipts were removed from the original Receipt book which was badly deteriorated with mould and rodent infestation. Receipts were frozen and cleaned prior to housing them in the archives.

Scope & Content File consists of receipts and accounts between May to December 1905 for the Anglo American Cannery and businesses and canneries in regards to supplies, equipment,shipping and debts owed by fishermen. Business receipts included are from; Marshall Smith ( grocer) in Ladner, McDonald & Co.( grocer)- Vancouver, several manufacturers of fishing nets and twines in Vancouver, shippers and importers in Vancouver, Wood Vallance & Legget hardware - Vancouver, as well as several accounts with canneries along the fraser river including; The Currie McWilliams Cannery, The Canoe Pass Cannery, The Albion Cannery and the Pacific Coast Cannery in Steveston.
