Scope Content Set of photographs consist of a barn on the Burns Ranch located at 7225-7269 Ladner Trunk Rd. which was part of the Dominic Burns Estate. The barn was collapsing and seen as unsafe and these photos were taken by Warren Nottingham prior to its demolition. The barn was owned and used by a number of Delta farmers over the years including; Dominic Burns, Farell, William Pybus, William Chadwick and Ollie Hagan. The barn was used to house; dairy cattle, beef cattle, and other hobby animals such as fallow dear.
Notes Digital files were taken from Warren Nottingham's digital camera and were saved as low resolution jpegs so the quality is not very good. Historical information for these photographs was provided by Warren Nottingham.

History Biographical The Delta Museum was officially opened in 1969 with the archives opening in 1979. The mandate of the archives is to acquire, organize and preserve historical records of Delta. The archives holds a variety of records that document the social, economic, political, cultural and community life of Delta. These records originate from individuals, families, businesses, community groups and the municipality.
Scope Content The fonds includes photographs donated by local residents and collectors. The fonds documents the diverse and eclectic past of Delta including pioneers, heritage buildings, agricultural scenes, fishery and cannery scenes, street scenes, local organizations, and businesses.

Physical Description 1 map : mounted on linen ; 115.57 x 92.075 cm
Conservation Conservation work was done to the original map prior to framing Oct. 11, 1989. Archival quality framing was done by Mido Framers, Vancouver, B.C.

Scope Content Consists of original townsite map of Ladner, for subdivision of the portion of District Lot 106, G2; December 31,1888. The map is mounted on linen and is numbered 256. The map shows many of the property owners and the street names such as Delta, Chisholm, Georgia, Trenant, Westham, Garry, Ladilaw and Chilukthan (now called Bridge Street) and is signed by land surveyors and owners W.H. Ladner, Donald Chisholm and Thomas McNeeley. Amendments were made to the map for the widening of Delta Street, August 17, 1920 and lots 60-63 & 65-68 & 70 for a dedicated lane, June 15, 1925. The scale of the map is one chain to one inch.

Scope Content File consists of one colour aerial photograph poster showing the site for Expo' 86. The title on the poster is ' Expo '86 Don't Miss it For the World! May 2- Oct 13, 1986. The photograph shows a plan for the site of the 1986 world exposition which is superimposed over an air photo of False Creek. The photograph shows the proposed Expo buildings looking North towards the North Shore Mountains. The photograph shows downtown Vancouver as far west as the Burrard Street bridge and as far east as the Port of Vancouver at the foot of Main Street. Some of the other features which can be seen include, the Lion's Gate bridge, Stanely Park, buildings in Vancouver, West Vancouver and North Vancouver.

Scope Content Tinted color print on a postcard showing the pharmacy of S.W. Fisher, which he recently purchased in 1907 from pharmacist Frank J. McKenzie (signs for both businesses are on store front). Other business buildings on the west side of Delta Street south of Fisher's store are Berry's grocery, Bell real estate and notary business, Calvert and Lewis agricultural implements, Reagh's shoe store, and the Royal Bank building. Boardwalk and poles for electricity are also visible.

Scope Content Photograph postcard of Ladner, looking north over Chillukthan Slough and Ladner Marsh towards the Fraser River. Elliott Street and the bridge to River Road is in the foreground, with the Community Hall and government wharf on the left of the photo at the corner of Elliott and Chisholm Streets. Fishing boats can be seen in the slough. Piles marking the Delta Cannery site are visible on the east side of the slough.
